THE YELLOW PAGES is a newsletter recommending Asian/AAPI films, music, writing, and other inspiration — all the artsy things I wished for growing up!
Oh… where do I even begin with
? We have been friends for a very long time — before we both went blonde! Jenny and I used to eat a lot of gluten together (we loved Souplantation — R.I.P.). Whenever we hang out, we cannot stop laughing.A decade ago, my husband Abe directed her in the BuzzFeed video “If Asians Said The Stuff White People Say” — which went super viral — thanks to Jenny’s unabashed comedy which is still her signature style today.
Whether she’s speaking out against the injustices of our government or kicking ass on Netflix (watch her play an assassin in The Brothers Sun!) Jenny’s energy is uplifting, empowering, and always hilarious. I love her so much.

Self-Care Things I Can't Live Without
🥛 Smoothies and Fresh Nut Milk Protein Hot Chocolates from my Nutr Nut Milk Machine — Nutr is not paying me for this. It's an essential part of how I nourish myself. It's great for single serving smoothies. It's great for making your own nut milks and adding whole food ingredients that make you feel good. And the key is you put everything in close it up and it runs itself -- room temp or piping hot. Blending and temperature all at the same time. I really should get an affiliate link at this point for all the times I've gifted or recommended a Nutr.
🛌 Buckwheat Bolster Pillow — I have a large tube pillow next to my bed that's about 4 feet long that I use to lay back on every night to gently crack and stretch my spine. I move it from lower to middle to upper back. Gets me right daily.
🔪 Earplugs and Murder Stories — I can't deal with random noises that disturb my sleep. But then again I am soothed by stories about serial killers that help me drift off to sleep so nothing makes sense.
🚶🏻♀️ Quick Walks Around My Neighborhood — Whenever I need to shake things out I take a walk around the neighborhood. 10 minutes to 20 minutes and then I'm back and refreshed. Get that sun in your eyes.
🛁 Foot Soak Tub and Epsom Salts — I don't care if it's just a wash bucket or a cheap plastic washing tub from Chinatown or one of those foot soak tubs you can get that vibrates and bubbles when you plug it in. After traveling or touring using this and the next item is a requirement once a week
🦶 Pedicure Skin Grater — It sounds gross but as a girlie with very ACTIVE rapid growth skin cells (nails, scalp, hair etc you know who you are) I need it to stay maintained. Prevents painful cracked skin. This is for those who need more than just pumice stones. That's child's play.
🧴 Shea butter based moisturizers — The ULTIMATE in moisture and hydration. WOW. Great for my hands, feet and knees. Even great for pushing down flyaways on my natural blonde Asian hair. DON'T SLEEP on shea butter. They seem expensive for so little but a tiny bit goes a long way.
