I woke up yesterday testing positive for COVID (boo) but also to a lovely email in my inbox letting me know that THE YELLOW PAGES is being featured on Substack (yay)! What an incredible honor to be recognized so early in this weekly newsletter-ing endeavor. For those of you who have stumbled here from that recommendation, welcome.

In honor of this honor, I wanted to give some love to a few other Substack newsletters written by Asian/AAPI writers. (Ones with * are people I know, the others I’m only just discovering.)
Wandering Ephemera* - “The periodic musings and wonderings of Taz Ahmed as she tries to find her way out of a global pandemic in political turmoil.”
Everything’s Fine with Jenny Yang* - “Stories and essays to share joy in an unjust world.”
Aimee Liu's Legacy & Lore - “Veteran author Aimee Liu, on the art of writing fiction and memoir steeped in Asian-American heritage.”
one spoon of soy sauce - “The ins and outs of K-pop and their industry.”
Half-Caste Woman - “The life and times of Anna May Wong, the first Asian American movie star, from an obsessive fan writing a book about her.”
Soy Sauce, Sugar, Mirin - “(Mostly) Asian Midlife Crisis Cooking.”
Brown Girl Bookshelf - “A monthly digest of book reviews, recommendations, and digital media by South Asian creators.”
Bad Asian American - “The ramblings of a guy who's bad at being Asian American.”
Wallflower Chats* - “A newsletter digging into all the things that make us curious.”
My Life is a Movie* - “A collection of artistic inspiration from Helenna Santos.” (Just launched!)
Anyone else who should be on my radar? I’d love to know.
It’s always been my intention to keep THE YELLOW PAGES free every week, and I do want to give special thanks (and a little gift) to those of you who have generously upgraded to a paid membership. You may or may not know that I’m an actress turned filmmaker and my feature debut I WILL MAKE YOU MINE was accepted to SXSW in 2020. But unfortunately, that festival was canceled because of the virus currently swimming through my body. Which means I still have a bunch of postcards that were meant to travel to Austin.
If you’re a paid subscriber, keep reading so I can send you one! Everyone else, thank you for your support and I’ll see you on Sunday.
